I was in the running for a Growth & Social Media Fellowship at that news company ATTN: and I even had, what felt like, a great interview. However, an hour ago, I received the rejection letter, and now I just want to drive off a cliff and hope for the worst. I’ve been laid off since April, and while I managed to land numerous interviews, worked with a few recruiters, and tweaked after each failure, I still get passed up. I can only stay positive for so long.

I know the feeling mate...still living at home at 30 trying to find a full-time teaching, museum, or library job. I work at a local fast food joint too, which is just soul-destroying as it is...(plus sub-teaching, computer repair and the local library.) Only the fast food place is a guaranteed schedule, so I can’t get an apartment because I would never be sure I’d have enough money for rent at the end of the month.
I’ve had a few interviews, but not many...pretty depressing. Hoping something turns up for both of us soon.
Good luck!

and they say people who work fast food have no ambition... I hate that argument when ever people talk about “a living wage”...
I swear people never think others have feelings too...

Hang in there. I applied to over 100 jobs over 1 year and I only got 1 job offer. It turned out to be a great job and that’s where I’m currently employed. You’ll get a good one

Yup...I have a $40,000 education I paid off myself, and I am working at the local Tim Hortons while trying desperately to find something full-time and permanent...pretty disheartening when I hear things like that. :/

Yea, its like people think those working in that industry want to stay at their jobs forever and that everyone is complacent and lazy...
I just think to myself, these are the glass houses throwing the first stones...
